Installé lors de ZAC99 au Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, à l'invitation de icono, en Octobre 1999.
"Miss Missing System est un dispositif sonore installé, mettant en oeuvre un dialogue entre une machine et une chanteuse sur le mode de l'improvisation préparée.
La machine sonore se constitue de familles de sons dont le développement exprime une psychologie: états internes, humeurs réactives, volonté fusionnelle...
Miss Missing System est une présence d'ambiance sonore continue en attente. Les interventions ponctuelles de la chanteuse déclenchent un mode de dialogue.
Ce dispositif est le résultat d'une collaboration entre trois artistes: Vincent Epplay, plasticien sonore, Joana Preiss, chanteuse, Antoine Schmitt, artiste programmeur."
Miss Missing System découle d'un processus de travail en équipe qui a aussi mené à infinite CD for unlimited music, le premier CD infini, ainsi qu'à divers outils de travail autour de la notion de partition générative et d'outil de mix temps-réel organisés.

"Miss Missing System is an installed sound setup, involving a dialogue between a machine and a singer, on the mode of prepared improvisation.
The sound machine is constituted of families of sounds, which development expressed a psychology: internal states, reactive humors, fusion desires...
Miss Missing System is a presence of sound atmosphere continuously waiting. The punctual interventions of the sunger trigger a dialog mode.
The setup is the result of a collaboration between three artists: Vincent Epplay, sound artist, Joana Preiss, singer, Antoine Schmitt, artist-programmer."
Miss Missing System comes from a team work process which also yielded infinite CD for unlimited music, the first infinite CD, as well as various working tools around the notion of generative partition and organized real-time mixing tools.
