Semi-Autonomous Design
Semi-Autonomous Design provides approaches to the design of autonomous and semi-autonomous artefacts and systems, developped by the industry for a large public confrontation. Semi-Autonomous Design acknowledges the fact that contemporary objects, systems, structures and procedures tend to display more and more autonomous behaviors, acting by themselves with no human supervision, and that the design of this autonomy, its means, forms, shape and usages, requires specific approaches. These design approaches focus on the artefact's autonomous behavior, and provide a consistency to all the other designs (visual, material, audio, technical, interaction, software, hardware). The approaches are systematic (anthropology, ethology, psychology) and creative. The identity of such autonomous or semi-autonomous objects lies in their actions (actions, reactions, interactions, etc..). Semi-Autonomous Design intends to design the shape of these actions, in a delicate balance between usability and personnality.
